I know people who do hardcore stuff and still make it to church and pray. Drugs have nothing to do with religion. Its about faith, love, kindness that you can carry yourself.

what an odd thing to say ... you don't think that based on the idea that drugs are completely EVILthat God would approve of such a terrible thing?

Iím sorry but I agree with Lwilliams - there is no room in the Gospel or Church for those who continually abuse themselves with drugs, I'm not talking about a new convert sorting out a few problems in the first year, but long term Christians. If anyone has a problem with drugs know this, That Jesus can set you free if you only ask and make the effort. Your mind is to be guarded against the enemy and unfortunately drugs weaken your inhibitions and your ability to make quality decisions and you are more prone to act on emotion and selfishness, which is the opposite of what Jesus would do, as he was selfless in his sacrifice and his care for others. Finally just stop being a burden on others and the Church do your self a favour and look outward and see the needs in other peoples lives and get involved and most importantly get real with God not religiously but communicatively.

Praise God Brothers and sister.
We should not warry about drug abusing. Remember Jesus didnt come saints but for sinners that's why during his reign on earth he associated with such people like tax collectors, prosistutes and others. Proximity factor of these drug abuser with the church and Jesus in particular has alot in changing their lives at a later stage suffice to not none of us is aware of his/her days on earth so we need preparations for the everlasting paradise in Heaven therefore i argue all christians abusing on drugs that your days on earth are numbered. The last time God will say it over, he will not listen your repentance.

Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment that you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "Let me take the speck out of your eye," when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

- Matthew 7.1-5

I use cannabis regularly to medicate a number of ailments. It is a natural plant from nature that god created. Hard drugs are harmful to the health of the human body and are not of nature therefore not of god.

We are, without realising here, discussing law verses Grace.
The grace bit is easy but the law is where it can get messy.
Basically we focus on Grace and the fruits will come forth.
You have to doubt someone using hardcore drugs is a Christian but God will determine that.
I often joke that coffee is the christians drug. But so can alcohol and smoking. We probably draw the line in various stages. I draw it after coffee, alcohol and smoking. But, and its an important but, what hurts our health is not God honoring and so the alcohol and more so smoking can be a rather large issue and can ruin our relationship with God. This is where grace and wisdom comes in to discern between the two. I agree with Kevin that the legal use is good but that is also grey depending on the States laws. Sometimes the Christian will do well to be wary of those laws. But if we find a new Christian who is addicted we should love them and guide them and pray for Jesus to get them off thier addiction. Condemnation is awful but agian we should not be legalistic as what if the addiction of your new Christian friend could result in your wife or daughter being harmed either potentially or for real. We must be practical and real in these situations but at all times in Grace.

I have to disagree with the usage of marijuana at all, I am not God and am not judging anyone but am simply saying what I feel is in my heart from prayers. Prayer is powerful and the teachings teach us that God can do anything and cure all dieases and sickness, so I think you should pray, remember that all these things are also a test of our faith! Have faith in the Almighty. I also have to say that I do not drink or smoke and I did before I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior over my life and my life has never been better. All these things alter your mind and we are meant to be of a sound mind. Let God be your addiction, put him first in every aspect of your life. Also we are supposed to mould our lives around Jesus, he came to show us the way. He didn't use marijuana or mention it as a cure, he said to ask God for that. He also didn't smoke, and he said not to go with drunkards. He used wine as a representation of his blood, a sip, not to drink for fun or enjoyment, but to give thanks. I do not consume alcohol at all, I take grape juice, simply by choice as I do not need alcohol, I want to be drunk on the love of Jesus. I want to tell everybody that I have been one of those people who used to say you can drink and smoke and do all those things and still believe in God, but I never really knew God and based my life on his Word. The only thing that you should go by is what God's Word says, not what you assume or even what someone says, even me, if ANYTHING I have said is wrong by God's Word and not in the Bible, then don't take it. Be assertive to God and pray.

Jesus died for us all, let's love him and trust in his ways.

The only authority on what a Christian is and should behave is the Bible. Those who would consider themselves to be followers of Christ and going to heaven when they die while doing drugs should read and study the subject, Revelation 22:15 those that will be out side the kingdom are sorcerers, the Greek translation is Pharmacia, were we get pharmacy from The word "drug". Drug dependency is sorcery, which is to control someone. Drug users need to repent and let Jesus set them free from all addictions. Get addicted to Christ and stop being the hypocrites that the world always sees and justifies their sin against, give sinners something that is real and a reason to live, in everything be an Evangelist. And shine the light of the real Christ.

Amen phil ,when we read the word of god and know it , then come across someone whose doing drugs , p**no,grog , whatever , we can say "hey dude this is wrong , the bible says this and that about what your doing and its wrong ". you are Not judging the person , His Sin is being judging by the word of god which, isn't man's word , but gods word. So they can justify what their doing , until you line it up with the WORD OF GOD , simple . Yes , by their fruits you shall know them , amen . so getn high of pot or pills , grog , sadly mate your backslidden .Cant serve two masters . the world= grog, drugs, etc , Gods way = clean ,righteous ,repentant heart , reading , praying, fasting , tithing , witnessing , Hey whose gonna listen to a druged up person trying to tell others about god , no one , you just make thing harder for christians and the unsaved dont want god if they see you , blown your testimony ......Pmac
